12 Golf Facilities in Canada 2017 Edition © Golf Canada and The PGA of Canada N ewfoundland and Labrador, the most eastern of the provinces, known for its unique coastal setting and visible icebergs has the fewest golf facilities of all the provinces. However, the courses that are there are stunning, and several are world-renowned. All 22 golf facilities in the province are open to the public with nine 9-hole facilities and ten 18-hole facilities. There is only one 36-hole course, Clovelly Golf Course. There are two layouts in Labrador-proper, one 9-hole facility and one 18-hole facility. With 22 facilities that span across nearly 374,000 KM's of rugged land mass and a population in excess of 530,000 people, Newfoundland Labrador has the highest population per 18-hole equivalent at 27,185. DID YOU KNOW? The newest golf course in Newfoundland is the River Course at the Humber Valley Resort which opened for play in 2004. One of only three resort facilities in the province, Humber Valley was named Best New Course in Canada in 2007 by SCOREGolf Magazine.
