this is Larry.
Larry has an eye for contemporary style and a taste for expensive
threads. He favours True religion jeans coupled with a woven
button-down shirt and a blazer as his office wear.
o
n warm, sunny days that are ideal
for golf, Larry leaves his office and
heads to his club; however, his
route features one minor stop—the McDonalds
parking lot down the street from the course. You
see, Larry can't wear jeans (even if they are really
trendy $400 jeans) at his golf club—not in the
parking lot, not in the locker room, not in the
lounge and definitely not on the golf course. So
his stop at the house that ronald McDonald built
allows him to change into a $12 pair of Walmart
khakis he keeps in his duffle bag. once his pants
are swapped, Larry heads to the club, parks his
car, walks through the parking lot and goes
straight into the men's locker room where he
changes once again—this time into shorts and a
golf shirt—before heading to the first tee.
As hilarious as this tale is, it also says something
about the ridiculously antiquated dress code at
Larry's golf club. But fear not, Larry's club is not
the norm. PRO:Formance spoke with a
handful of PGA of Canada professionals
about what is (and isn't) acceptable to wear at
their clubs.
