CASE STUDY - HENRY BRUNTON GOLF OTHER: The Strive for Excellence Program is a program that aligns itself with the Coach of Developing Competitors Stream. The following is an outline of the contact hours an athlete will have with a Henry Brunton Golf Coach: Each athlete receives approximately 282 total hours consisting of: • 4, one hour private coaching sessions per month for 9 months = 36 hours total • Performance coaching sessions - fitness, mental game, rules training - 2.5 hours per week for 12 sessions = 30 hours total • Skills development coaching - 1.5 hours, 2 times per week for 20 weeks = 60 hours total • Friday night golf - 2.5 hours, once per week for 4 months = 40 hours total (note: not all kids come to all of these sessions. These are optional) • Practice rounds/support at competitions - 8 events on average for approximately 5 hours per competition = 40 hours total • Phone call support, development and maintenance of athlete performance plans, three to five additional sessions, group training workshops = 25 hours total • Spring Break camp. 7 days for 8 hours per day = 56 hours • Additionally, athletes have supervised training, receive weekly reporting on their progress, presentations of the athlete performance plans in January, May, July and September and may have sessions with one of the Integrated Sports Team coaches. 23
