27 THE PREMISE THAT TRIGGERED THIS RESEARCH WAS THAT THERE WERE LIKELY SIMILARITIES IN THE CAREERS OF SUCCESSFUL HEAD PROFESSIONALS IN TERMS OF THE: • Roles held • Educa on a ained • Support received • Experiences faced • Mindset or approach followed If these similari es could be uncovered, this informa on would be beneficial to helping aspiring golf professionals accelerate their careers, as well as guide the educa on and training curriculum of the PGA of Canada. The survey and interview results have indeed found consistencies in the ways successful Head Professionals achieved current roles. The 10 'Career Maps', as well as the generic career map produced (see Appendix A & B) provide guidance as to the: i) types of roles, educa on/cer fica on/a ained, and ii) the typical meline to acquire a Head Professional role. The following conclusion and recommenda ons focus on the intangibles related to the nature of experiences, support, and mindset that is needed if aspiring professionals are to be successful in obtaining their first head professional posi on.
