09 The premise of this research is there are likely similari es in the careers of successful Head Professionals. These similari es, if uncovered, would be beneficial to the following audienc- es: • Individuals considering a career in the golf industry and are curious as to the types of roles exis ng and career path typically required to achieve a head professional role. • Aspiring golf professionals who have already commi ed to the profession and are looking to proac vely manage their career but are unsure as to what role(s) and/or experiences they should target that would help them accelerate their career goals. • Current golf professionals who are o en mes asked to for career-related advice. The experience from fellow professionals, combined with their own, will broaden and strengthen the advice provided. • Golf club owners and board members will gain a be er apprecia on of the business-related benefits of hiring a golf professional given their extensive experience, educa on and capabili es. • PGA of Canada as it looks to improve its current programs for developing and suppor ng the careers of those aspiring to become Head Professionals. Consequently, this first-ever research project is specifically aimed to provide answers to the following KEY QUESTIONS: WHAT IS THE CAREER PATH AND TIME LINE OF A TYPICAL PGA OF CANADA HEAD PROFESSIONAL? WHAT ROLES AND/OR LEARNING EXPERIENCES ARE MOST IMPACTFUL TO HAVING A SUCCESSFUL CAREER? WHAT MINDSET, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND MEMBERSHIPS HELP TO ACCELERATE A HEAD PROFESSIONAL'S CAREER?
