11 Both quan ta ve and qualita ve data collec- on methods were used during two phases: MAY 1-JUNE 30, 2017: A online survey (quan ta ve) was sent to all current Head Professionals within the PGA of Canada, solici ng responses about their career choices and key learning's. MAY 15-JULY 15, 2017: Ten in-depth interviews (qualita ve) were conducted by the study's author with a select group of Head Professionals within the PGA of Canada to more fully understand their career evolu on. The prime analy c task was to make clear the ways in which Head Professionals achieved their career success, so it could be shared with others. The goal was to not only track the career choic- es made by accomplished Head Professionals, but also to uncover through ques oning their expecta ons, perspec ves, and interpreta ons as their careers unfolded. For example; how did they view success and/or failure? What was their mindset following each role change? Why did they feel they were successful while some of their colleagues struggled during their careers?
