Restoring VGC By Jeff Mingay S ome golfers think that restoring an original golf course design from a pre- vious era is nothing more than nostalgic. Some times though, when you look back at a course's history it becomes ap- parent that time and evolution hasn't been kind. Golf courses are living things after all. They're in a constant state of change; and, change isn't always good. When I started putting togeth- er a Master Plan for the Victoria Golf Club back in 2009, I quick- ly realized that while few fun- damental changes had been made to the course's layout since the 1920s, much had in fact changed.
