n behalf of the more than 3,700 PGA of Canada of members, I would like to wel-
come you to the 2016 PGA Championship of Canada sponsored by Mr. Lube and
presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf.
The historic P.D. Ross Trophy will be presented on Thursday evening to a deserving PGA of
Canada member who has battled through six grueling rounds of golf over four days. The
2016 champion will add his name to a distinguished list of past champions including, George
Knudson, Stan Leonard, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Steve Stricker, Tim Clark, Dave Barr, Ray
Floyd, Dan Halldorson, Moe Norman, last year's winner Danny King and so many other great
professionals.
The PGA of Canada is fortunate to have outstanding partnerships with two of Canada's
most recognized brands—Mr. Lube and TaylorMade-adidas Golf —which play a huge role in
the current and future success of the PGA Championship of Canada.
I would like to thank the staff and management of Victoria Golf Club who have been
going above and beyond to make this championship a memorable one for the players
and the fans. As golf instructors, coaches, general managers and club professionals, all 64
of these players represent what is great about the PGA of Canada professional. To be able
to maintain an extremely high playing ability, while still maintaining and managing a career
is truly admirable. To the players, thank you for participating and I wish you the best of luck
this week.
