24  | PGA PRo:FoRMANCE pRO:file Brooke is best off taking a scholarship to Florida in a year's time, he says. But it is also hard to imagine her fin- ishing her time in Florida. More likely Henderson will play a year there and head out on tour. Her dominance as an amateur has led some to suggest Henderson should forgo college and chase her dreams on the LPGA, while for others the situation isn't as clear. Going to school in Florida will give her a college educa- tion, something that's clearly important to her and her family. But it won't likely elevate her game, says her older sister, Brittany, who just finished her time playing U.S. college golf. "She'll learn a lot from school—she'll love it," Brittany says. "But as for the golf…" She trails off. It is clear her younger sister won't find the competition up to her standards. "She's better than all of the players I played against already," she adds. For now, it is probably status quo for Henderson. When current World No. 1 Minjee Lee turns pro, Hen- derson will ascend to the top spot. In the meantime, Henderson is trying to take it all in. "It has been unbelievable starting with the Kra Nabisco in April," she says, getting ready to tuck into her post-round meal and head to the movies. "Everything has been great. Every weekend I learn something new. And hopefully down the road I can take something from these experiences and become a better person and a bet- ter golfer." As for the wins, the U.S. Amateur runner-up and the strong play at both the CP Women's open and the World Amateur, Henderson says they are just part of a process that will eventually lead to the pro ranks. "If the wins come, that's great," she says. "But they are stepping stones to my real goal, which is a long way away." or maybe not as far away as she thinks. Hopefully down the road I can take something from these experiences and become a better person and a better golfer.
