CASE STUDY - GAO SAMPLE COACHING MODEL GOLF ASSOCIATION OF ONTARIO SAMPLE COACHING MODEL SUMMARY: The following coaching business sample model was developed by the Golf Association of Ontario and Dr. Greg Wells. This program covers athletes from ages 10 to 18 and may serve as a starting point for a coach considering developing their own program. Each column in this chart will be adjusted to meet the needs and demands of the coach, athletes, facility, region as well as other factors. It is understood that the development of a coaching program such as this will require time to develop. A coach may consider initiating the business with the youngest athletes and each year move them through the program while recruiting new younger athletes to replace the youngest age group Age 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 38 Sessions Hours / / week session 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 5 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 4 Weeks / year Hours / year Quality Ball Contacts 16 16 24 24 32 32 40 40 42 (1) 32 32 144 144 384 384 800 800 840 3,560 (2) 1,440 1,440 6,480 6,480 17,280 17,280 36,000 36,000 37,800 Number Percentage of of athletes supervised practice with Coach 1:12 100% 1:12 100% 1:08 100% 1:08 100% 1:08 80% 1:08 80% 1:06 80% 1:06 80% 1:06 60% Stage of Total Total Fees/year Athlete Hours Quality /athlete DevelBall opment Contacts (3) (4) Bantam 32 1,440 $1,500 Bantam 64 2,880 $1,500 Bantam 208 9,360 $2,500 Bantam 352 15,840 $2,500 Juvenile 736 33,120 $3,000 Juvenile 1120 50,400 $3,000 Junior 1920 86,400 $3,500 Junior 2720 122,400 $5,000 Junior 3560 160,200 $5,000 Total coach revenue as per ratio $18,000 $18,000 $20,000 $20,000 $24,000 $24,000 $21,000 $30,000 $30,000 $205,000 Footnotes: 1.
