There's no doubt he's looking to redeem himself after an early second round exit at the hands of Edd Boudreau in 2012 at Country Hills. No. 2—Mike Belbin—Royal Mayfair Golf Club, Alta.—Mike Belbin is undoubtedly one of the most talented players in the country. No. 3—Danny King—The Performance Academy at Magna, Ont.—The No. 3-ranked player from the PGA of Canada Player Rankings will definitely have a home-course advantage at Magna. No. 4—Dave Levesque—La Prairie Club de Golf Inc., Que.—The PGA of Canada's newest national board member is also a pretty darn good player. Over the past two years, Levesque has won six matches at the PGA Championship of Canada and has a solid chance to win six more matches in 2013. No. 5—Bryn Parry—Seymour Creek Golf Centre, B.C.—Could this be the year Bryn Parry takes the next step at the PGA Championship of Canada? After a stunning first-round defeat in 2011 and a third-round exit last year, the No. 4-ranked player from the PGA of Canada Player Rankings has his eyes set on playing matches at Magna beyond Thursday morning. No. 6—Brian Hutton—Ont.—Did anyone see Brian Hutton coming last November in Port St. Lucie, Fla.? Even if they did, they weren't able to stop him from capturing his second PGA Club Professional Championship of Canada. The unassuming 54-year old might fly under the radar yet again at Magna. Bryn Parry No. 7—Bill Walsh—Fairtree Golf Centre, Ont.— Ontario's Billy Walsh broke through in 2012 with a win at the PGA of Ontario Assistants' Championship and a pair of runner-up finishes at the Canada Cup and PGA Assistants' Championship of Canada. Word on the street is that he's pretty familiar with Magna too, which will certainly come in handy. No. 8—Lindsay Bernakevitch— Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, B.C.—Shaughnessy's Lindsay Bernakevitch had a statement type season in 2012. He finished runner-up in the PGA Championship of Canada and third at the PGA of BC Assistants' and Zone Championships. What might he have in store for 2013? No. 9—Eric Laporte—Montcalm Club de Golf, Que.—The most impressive stat from Eric Laporte's win last year at Country Hill was he never once trailed in his six matches. The 2012 Mike Weir Player of the Year looks to become the championship's first back-to-back winner since George Knudson in 1976 and 1977. No. 10—Reg Millage—The Golf Lab, Ont.—There probably isn't a player in this year's PGA Championship of Canada field who hits more fairways than Reg Millage. Last year, Millage had a solid season, finishing sixth or better at three big events—the Canada Cup, the PGA of Ontario Assistants' and the PGA Assistants' Championship of Canada. No. 11—Brad Clapp—Chilliwack Golf Club, B.C.—Last year Brad Clapp entered the PGA Championship of Canada with a load of hype surrounding him. This year, Clapp just has a mountain of expectations to live up to thanks to outstanding finishes at zone and national events in 2012.
