09 The premise of this research is that there are likely similari es in the careers of successful Head Teaching Professionals and these similar- i es, if uncovered, would be beneficial to the following audiences: • Individuals considering a career in the golf industry and are curious as to the types of roles that exist, and career path typically required to achieve a Head Teaching Professional role. • Aspiring Teaching Professionals who have already commi ed to the profession and are looking to take ownership of their career but are unsure as to what role(s) and/or experiences they should target that would assist them to reach their goals. • Current Head Teaching Professionals who are o en mes asked to mentor and provide career-related advice. The career 'stories' of their fellow Teaching Professionals will broaden their perspec ve on career progression and the advice they will be able to provide. • Golf Club Owners and Board Members who will gain a be er apprecia on of skills, experiences and value a cer fied Teaching Professional would bring to their clubs / facili es. • PGA of Canada as they look to improve their programs and services aimed at suppor ng the careers of those aspiring to become Head Teaching Professionals. Consequently, this research project is specifi- cally aimed to provide answers to the following KEY QUESTIONS: WHAT IS THE CAREER PATH AND TIME LINE OF A TYPICAL PGA OF CANADA HEAD TEACHING PROFESSIONAL? WHAT ROLES AND/OR LEARNING EXPERIENCES ARE MOST IMPACTFUL TO HAVING A SUCCESSFUL CAREER? WHAT MINDSET, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND MEMBERSHIPS HELP TO ACCELERATE A TEACHING PROFESSIONALS CAREER?
